Default Wow is all I can say

My hunting buddy and I went out this morning to pick up our trail cams. When we got home and got to looking at the images, my bud has 2 buck coming past his location. Both 8 pts. One is just a run of the mill 8 pt about 14" spread and mediocore tines. But the other has a 18 - 20" spread, high G2s and G3s with no junk but very symetrical. I would guess he is about a 120 buck which is really good for this area.
So now we know of 3 buck in the 120 - 140 class in the area. Archery season only 4 weeks away. Too bad PAs early ML season is for anterless deer only!

Your telling us you have three great bucks on your place..... And then want us to feel sorry for you because you have to wait a little to take one...... something wrong with that.....

Heck no, aint nothing wrong with that. Just that I my last 4 buck were taken with bow and I would really like to take one with the ML without having to wait until regular rifle season. PA has an early ML season for one week Oct 15-22 but for anterless only.
I forgot to mention I had one pic of a deer that blew right past my camera and I only caught the hind end. He was close enough to the camera that it caught a pic of his "junk" so I knew it was a buck. Body size looked good but can't tell about the rack.

That's excellent news bronco!

Hope you get one w/the ML. I know what you mean about bow season though. Around here if you have one picked out you better get him w/the bow or you won't get him at all.

I got a buck almost identical to you what you described on my camera a couple weeks ago. Got me all pumped up and when I went back Sat to check it again almost giddy w/excitement I found out my camera was fried. Glad you had better luck than me. Hope you get him.

Never pass on a shooter buck. I don't care what season it is. Good luck.

Dave & Builder you are both right. I won't pass up a shooter. Especially with the bow. All he needs is 3 pts on one side. Its just that what bugs me is the fact that you can't shoot a buck in early ML season - which runs concurrently with archery season - but you can use a X-bow?!?! Most shots, especially where I hunt are 50 yds and less. A practiced man with a X bow can make that shot and shoot a buck.
I know I could probably keep my bow in the back of my truck, shoot a buck with the ML, then go get my bow and recover him and no one would be the wiser. But that would nag me for the rest of my life. I just couldn't see myself doing something like that.
