My shoulder has gotten so bad i've gone to the Plains Pistol, and gave up big game hunting. Kind of a bummer, but I knew it was coming. Now I have something new to learn.:D

Before I would give up big game hunting I would set up a blind in a hot spot and put a led sled inside the blind and keep hunting without the gun touching anything except my trigger finger.that would be better than not hunting deer at all.

My plan was to hunt rabbits with the pistol this year to see how accurate I can get with it.

If I can get good with it. I might hunt deer with it next year, and keep my distance 25 yds or under. That would mean deep timber hunting which I love.

We'll see how it goes.

It would be fun.I bought the same pistol in 54 cal a couple years back to hunt deer only to find out afterwards that we Can't hunt with a bp pistol. Real bummer but I learned a lesson.check the regs before not after.

Im not far behind you in the amount i can tolerate anymore thanks to being broadsided by an uninsured driver. That aggravated a previous injury and even kept me off my Ducati for most of the year. Smokeless actually kicks less if you load it down to upper BH209 levels and proper bullet selection. The 275gr BE and the most accurate amount of N110 is very pleasant to shoot and its so accurate its boring out to 175 yards. 40 yard bugholes are just not worth taking pics and i needed some FUN time. ;)

FELT Recoil is very similar to my 200gr 45cal hunting loads with BH209 in my Elite 45. I also made a fun load with the 225gr FTX at over 2300 fps in the NULA that even the kids enjoyed. None of the kids are into hunting but they love to shoot them if they are not getting rocked every time.

When i know they are going to be there, i have to take 3 guns just so they all have enough time to cool down but still keep the kids occupied and supervised. One of them is about ready to reload SUBS on his own. He hasn't made a single mistake yet and he listens/learns fast....plus he is a crack shot. :D

Ahhhh..to discover how much fun guns were as a kid.

Life was good.

Now, it's just pain.

As long as we don't give up, and find something we can shoot. Life is still good. :cool2:
