Well I was lucky this time. Had next to nothing for damage and that makes me happy. Actually lost power at midnight, after Irene had pasted through. We finally got power back on at 5 pm this afternoon.

Winds got up to 80+ mph here and all my trees held up!!!

That's great rafsob. I well know the feeling of dodging a hurricane bullet. You sort of feel "well that was no big deal" - - - until one smacks you.

Irene will go down in history as the biggest hurricane that wasn't.Way over hyped by the media.Funny to watch them struggle when they realized it wasn't near as bad as they predicted.Good thing for all of us though. We got a lot of rain and some flooding, but all in all not too bad.

Connecticut has 700,000 people without electricity and a lot of local flooding. The town next door has 60% of the residents without power.

I'm in Richmond, VA and lost power at 2pm on Saturday and am still without. No cell phone service and no land line service either. It is my understanding that 75% of Richmond lost power. Of course, my office didn't lose power, so here I am, chained to my desk.

I noticed the deep freezer leaking yesterday afternoon when I was cleaning up the yard (ALL DAMN DAY!). I am going to give another 24 hours for the electricity to return before I crack her open. Damn I will have a lot of meat to eat. Everyone bring a grill over to my place!! :D

And I had a 13 mile river trip planned for that Saturday. Sheesh!

Irene hit Saturday evening and my power is still out. I'm hearing it might be back on Saturday. And I can't get my generator to start. I'm on the computer at my mother in laws now.
