I have actually done that in years past...

In fact right now I have just taken my White Umag out of the safe and have decided it is going to the Rock Pit early next week for a round of POI checking... Clay Pigeons - beware:mad:

I could go hunting tomorrow if need be, but I'd like to play around with my muzzle loader a little more before hunting season if possible. I say this because I have been shooting Pyrodex loose powder in it to save money at the range, and I'd like to shoot pellets when hunting. I'm pretty sure when I tried them in the past that they shot to the same POI, but I can't remember for sure, so I want to shoot it a few times before taking it hunting just to verify. However, if I had to go hunting tomorrow, I would, and I'd just shoot loose powder in it. It really wouldn't be a big deal.

I plan to shoot a 300 Grain Speer Deep Curl bullet this year with 100 grains of Pyrodex in Harvester Crush Rib Sabots. Last year, I shot 300 grain Fusion bullets with 100 grains of Pyrodex and these bullets seem to perform very similarly in my testing, so I'm expecting similar performance on deer.

Anyone ever taken more than one gun to the stand with them while hunting?

I do, one sits in the stand all night and i carry another down in the morning. Im set from a 10 yard to 225 yard shot by the time im in the stand. The brush gun stays with me during any walk.

I sometimes take my .22 Hornet along as a second gun when hunting a box stand (and leave it there for the weekend like GM54). It's my coyote/bobcat/feral dog medicine, or if I decide to shoot a rabbit for the pot.
