Bear hunting is a no no!
 

Im glad i never got to pull the trigger on one! They are just to darn cute!

I went out back around 1130am with the truck and some water to top off the jugs out back and ran into this little guy sitting on his butt by the water LOL. I have a good deal of grass and weeds popping up now due to the rain and so i threw some grass seed out there after i finished seeding my bigger size plot and so hopefully when it rains i will have some more grass growing in the area.

Hes was a cute little fur ball! He kind of trotted off and then sat down facing me and just watched me for a while until i got out of the truck. I made darn sure i scouted the area out for momma, but i couldn't find her anywhere. Could be she was off somewhere else on the other side of the neighbors property. Maybe 40 or 50lbs?



Funny as heck though, i always wanted to hunt bear but after this, nuh uh! To cute and to much fun to watch. I was baby talking this bear all up today when he was sitting on his butt watching me.

That is so cool. It is probably good you never saw the mother. I don't mind that other people hunt them, but I never had a desire to myself.

funny part was, after i watched him for a bit a plan of how to catch him started to unfold LOL. He was tiny and cute. Make a good little house pet.

Ya until he grew up! LOL

I never liked the taste of bear meat anyway. I don't hunt them.

A bear that size would put a world if hurt on you actually if you were to grab it. They are strong at that age. A fellow not far from my place raises hogs. He went out to feed them and found a small bear trying its best to get the feed barrel open. So he yelled at it and was way to close to it. That thing took a swipe at him and tore a pants leg off his blue jeans (so he claims.. I personally think he was BSing us).

The rule of thumb is, if the bear is the size of the a large sack of potatoes (remember when potatoes came in 50 pound sacks), body wise, they are usually large enough to shoot. A lot of hunters haul in 100 pound bears around here. I suspect they are shooting the first thing that comes to them.

Actually a great thing to bring bigger bear into an area is a little bear. The bigger ones sometimes kill the smaller ones. Also if the little one finds a food source, the bigger ones will chase him out and claim the food for itself.

Bear meat is really good if you cook it right. I have eaten a lot of it, and its as good as any beef roast. Also what they eat makes a difference. The garbage dump bears are not that good I heard.

They are cute when they are little. But the big ones are tough critters to hunt when hounds or baiting isn't allowed like here in PA. And BTW Muley, bearis good when properly prepared. Just like any other game animal.

Taste is a personal thing. I'm sure you like like lots of foods that I don't.

Bear hunting never made since to me, either.....but, to each there own..... I guess i feel the way my wife does about deer hunting, they are to cute to shoot.

There are more black bear sightings here in MO, but they are protected here.
