Let's Play "Shoot The Shill"
After reading some of the recent posts I've decided to come out of the closet.
I'll come clean and admit it. I'm a shill for GOEX powder and Green Mountain TC replacement barrels. So OK guys, go ahead and take some shots at me because we need those kinds of posts to keep us amused. Hey GOEX & GM! Have you even noticed the nice things I've been saying about your product? Now send me something free dammit! ![]() |
I admit i love GM and Douglas barrels
I admit i love my GMB54 and feel its the best BH209 capable inline 54cal carbine ever made. I admit i really like BH209 but hate the cost I admit the Savage is a nice gun but to me its just a novelty. I admit i hate IMR lobby efforts to make the ML season restricted to powder they sell and try to get BH209 and smokeless banned. I admit sofar i haven't handled a 50cal gun that even comes close to the balance, fit and finish of the NULA. I admit im pissed off Knight did not offer a 45cal. I admit the last few posts on the New Powder thread had nothing to do with CVAs current quality but i made it appear that way to bring out another shill since the topic was derailed anyway. :p My God they were gullible. LOL |
Semi, I knew you would come out of the closet sooner or later!
I have a soft spot Hawken/Rocky Mtn style rifles. Expecially if they have nice wood. I too am a sucker for good old Goex and GM barrels. I have a couple ammo boxes full of FFg, FFFg and FFFFg. I have 8 sidelocks and all but 2 have GM barrels on them. Plus I have another 1 or 2 GM barrels standing in the safe. I have yet to find one that wouldn't shoot with the proper load combo. I also keep a container or two of Pyrodex RS and P around as a couple of my MLs prefer it over the BP. I have packs and packs of Harvester Crush Rib and EZ load sabots. And Hornady XTPs out the ying yang. |
Oops i also forgot at least one.
I admit......IF i needed a affordable gun, the new Optima is actually really nice. |
As much as I push Thors and Swiss, I should get something free.
I don't get squat! |
yeah I think you did the same thing 3years ago when once again Louse was called out.... make it a game and fun all you want.....at least most of the shills on this sight contribute something more than just chiming in to push their pet product.... But not Louse, he jumps on any occasion he can to push what ever he is being given to endorse.... Therefore he is the bottom of the barrel.....
if history repeats itsself the rest of the good shills will chime in, in his favor and he will hide out until the dust settles...but, what ever floats the sheeples boat, correct?? |

My God they were gullible. LOL
|
I'm not sure how to take that?
|
who is they??? the only one defending CVA was FGshill..... i was posting info and am one that i dont care if cva give me a new ML....I would not shoot one! after the bad hype of the old barrels, that is all i would think about everytime i pulled the trigger....i don't care how much testing was done.
|
all i said was rather than arguing about of powder to shoot, just call the manf. to get it cleared up.
If GM the knight/lehigh pusher wants to talk down on me and call me a shill, guess what. Thats ok. I don't push products, i am recommending proven products. Products that i have tested in the field and have proven to be affective under a variety of weather and field conditions. Many others on here can say the same thing about the products THEY use. |
Show me where ive pushed ANY Lehigh product besides the NFPJ conversion. You promote a mod that will void the warranty on CVAs and Dudley knows YOU are promoting it. Hmmm i wonder why you made your forum private now and removed the CVA trademarks on the names. LOL
I didn't even buy a new Knight and ragged on them about the bolt issue, You got booted from MM because you couldn't keep your PB and APP shilling and arguing in a section made JUST FOR YOU. You got ragged on for being a shill so now you just could not resist the temptation. YOU ARE THE BIGGEST SHILL....Goodbye. :D |

YOU ARE THE BIGGEST SHILL....Goodbye. :D The ranks were removed as i felt it was to much work assigning special users their own personal rank. If you go to the gallery section you will find logos for CVA,Knight & TC that users can load to their signature along with their rifle/load info. I wanted the users to be able to have more options to personalize what they shoot. Rust/corrosion void the warranty, and that will happen a lot sooner if you don't use my "mod". Cheer up big fellow :arms: We all can be friends without trying to put one another down. |
Reacordbook,
To be honest. I hate all inlines, but for an inline. The CVA's aren't bad. |
Leave it Semi to come up with a game like shoot the Schill:lmao: True Schills are like drunks and drug addicts, they just can't help themselves:s3:i personally feel jon/MD is deep into the recovery stage and does a darn good job of testing a lot of various products and giving accurate and honest evaluations on them. this i feel is due to him having his own muzzle loader site.GM tests a lot of products himself and is accurate and honest also about those products. Then we have the Schill that will never recover and will be in denial for the remainder of there lives.Grouse or louse as record book refers to him.these Schills will resort to just about anything to push there pet products.i own one T/C and one knight rifle and i have to tell you if anyone could show me on paper that a 45 cal CVA will accurately shoot full bore conicals i would buy one tomorrow as reasonably priced as they are.. Ray

Opps lead conicals that is!
|
I talked to Terry today, and he's still working on the .45 Thor's.
That might be the answer. Then again, maybe it's taking so long, because they won't work. I didn't know conicals in a .45 were a problem? |

My Accura 45 shot the 300gr PB Plat, PR Ultimate Tipped 360gr and the Hornady 285 GP fairly good. It preferred the 300gr PB Plat that is discontinued IIRC. Shot at a low fps it is probably fine but avoid heavy loads. If you really want to shoot lead conical 45s...get a White. Almost nothing will match them with cheap subs and cheap lead. The White Super 91 in 451 is just plain nasty and will handle bullets near 500grs at 1300fps or more...I even know where one is in SS for $300 IIRC. Why not try sabotless? all they need is a couple sizing dies or one expensive Swinglock adjustable die. A 1-28 twist should shoot upto a 250gr ok with a heavy amount of BH209. Parker 250gr BEs are one of the easiest to get fitted and shooting well. In a 50cal the bullet selection isnt a problem for sabotless but sizing dies are an issue. Faster twists like 1-24 make it much easier too. Slow twist like my Knight 45 are a PITA and a 225gr is about max sabotless. The Original with the 1-20 though will shoot big lead or sabotless just fine. It just takes more load work. |
I would not shoot one! after the bad hype of the old barrels, that is all i would think about everytime i pulled the trigger Quote from Bloomberg Businessweek: And if present trends continue, Ford will sell more than 900,000 F-Series pickup trucks again this year -- the third consecutive year -- with the F-150 accounting for about 60% of the total, or roughly 550,000 units. To put that into perspective, last year Toyota only sold 431,703 Camrys, the nation's best-selling sedan. |
My God they were gullible. LOL They say confession is good for the soul. So I thought all of the other shills out there would finally come clean. |
You guys are small time. I have the whole internet fooled.

GM i won't shoot a PB lol!

I think all current CVA 45s are 1-28 not 1-25. The 45-300gr PB really isnt that bad, just dont push it. The rest suck IMO. Shoot it slow like any other conical. Those are the only three i remember shooting. It shot a 200gr SST and 100gr BH209 just fine so i didn't play with conicals too much and the bore was so large that sabotless would have been a PITA to shoot the bullets i wanted to try. Then i did try a few modded bullets and when the powder charge got high enough to stabilize them, the primers started to flow so i gave up on sabotless for awhile and sold it.
I will be playing with sabotless again before the season starts and my new bullets arrive. |

Semi, I fixed the target for you....

I want a .45 for the reduced recoil and flatter shooting. I have no interest in a 300gr bullet.

Gentlemen,
You are free to discuss or argue the merits of different muzzle loaders as much as you want. Calling each other names and/or posting inappropriate pictures violates HNI rules. Rules violations will be deleted with either a public reminder to all (such as this) or PM(s) explaining the violation(s) in greater detail. If the problem(s) persist, it usually results in a temporary ban or, if the violation is egregious enough, a permaban. If you are not familiar with HNI's rules, I've included a link to the rules (see below). If you have questions, comments or concerns, please PM me. Thanks in advance for your cooperation. familiar enough to know advertising is not allowed but this shill is continually allowed to post his bias bs for knight and lehigh.....
|
Yee Ha! I've never before started a thread just to stir things up for the fun of it (been kinda slow what with the heat and no one shooting much :D ). But this one even got a Super Moderator involved (sorry `bout that CalHunter :s14: ).
My only regret is it didn't draw Cayugad in. He never jumps in on the ugly ones. I am very suspicious of him because of that and suspect he is a shill for common sense and moderation. |

You're quite a hoot INRecordBookBuck, taking all of this so serious.
I confess, I'm a shill for a shill. (You should see all of the free stuff I have piled in the corner of my man cave. :s2: ) |
