Finally got to try the new SST in 200 gr.in my 50 cal it shot allmost as good as the barnes 195,good enough for target and hunting.Haven' t had a problem to get the 50 cal to shoot good but the 45 cal is a whole different story.
I am on my second barrel with the 45 and today was the first time I got any bullet to group in it,didn' t shoot as tight as the 50 but it shot enough to hunt with, hopefully it will get better with trying different amounts of powder.
I used the 200 sst and 115 grs of pyro-select in both calibers,I got a group with the 50 of ..645 with the first 3 shots because I all ready had the scope set for the 195 gr barnes. The 45 took more shots before I shot a group because I had to put a scope on it and zero it in.
Will try to include a pic if it works.

Those were at 100 yds,I wanted to try the 50 at 200 but ran out of time getting the scope zeroed on the 45 cal.
Hornady advertises that the sst drops 2 in less,Using the 195 barnes I get a 6 in drop with 120 grs select and 8 in drop with 100 gr select at 200yds ,I used 115 grs in both these cals today.

The one that I was using are for a 45 they are 40 cal,I use them in my 50 by switching sabots that take a 40 cal bullet in my 50,the sabots are the same as pr uses for his bullets.
I have tried his bullets in a lot of different grains but I just never got the groups that I got using the barnes 195 in my 50.thats why I wanted to try the sst, they are les expensive than the barnes.I got the sst' s for under 8 bucks for 20 and the last time I got the barnes was around 20 bucks for 25,saw some in a store the other day and they were marked $28.99 a box.
T/C is susposed to be coming out with the 200 gr for the 50 but haven' t seen one yet if they shoot good probably use them then I won' t have to order the sabots to shoot the 40 cal in my 50 cal.
I have had my 45 cal barrel for 2 years now (this is the second one,I sent the 1:20 back and they sent me a 1:28) and would you believe that in the pic was the first group that I have gotten after trying many other bullets and powder.I tried bullets from 150 to 240 grs in it without any success. But the 50 shoots so good.
