Default Vision

I took the Knight Vision to the range today to try to get it sighted in, again. I seem to be having a fit with this rifle. I was excited at first with the 50 yard groups when I was adjusting the scope to put it in the bulls eye. But when I moved out to 100 yards the groups went to heck. I'm beginning to think it has something to do with Blackhorn 209. I have yet to find a load with that powder that any of my rifles likes. And at the cost of it, I'm thinking about giving up messing with Blackhorn 209.

I don't think it is the gun. A Knight is a good rifle. If your not happy with that... I would try some loose powder like Pyrodex RS. People might hate it because Pyrodex is dirty, but when it comes down for consistency, its a hard powder to beat. Try 100 grains of Pyrodex RS and some Shockwaves. People might not like shockwaves, but normally they shoot real well. Or try some Barnes MZ, or perhaps some 300 grain XTPs. Move up to a heavier bullet. See what happens.

I tried some 200 and 240 grain XTP's today also. The targets were not even worth saving so they were put in the circular file. Pyrodex will be the next powder I try in my Knight Vision.

I am shooting 100 grs. of BH209 and the Hornaday FTP 350 gr bullet. I just got my hands on some of the 300 gr bullets and have yet to try them. I have great success with the Hornaday bullets. They are a little hard to get started, but are vey accurate. When in the field, I have my reload tube loaded with pre-started bullets. It makes it easier to do a fast reload.

But if all else fails, a 300 grs saboted XTP will work wonders in almost all the inlines I have used them in.

This is a new gun. He just recently got it. Hell, my old T/C Black Diamond will shoot Blackhorn 209.

I know a few people on here have shot the Vision and get very good accuracy with this rifle. What load are they using?

For all you guys that have experience with the Vision, come on now. Help the man out!
