Traditions are Spanish guns. You might consider a Pedersolli or the Green Mountain makes a small caliber as well. I think it is a .36 caliber. They also make a .40 caliber which could work real well as the ball in under .40 caliber.

For that purpose I would go with a 36 caliber and a 147 gr conical from Dixie. The mold and the bullet are actually for a revolver but the 1 in 48 twist shoots them well for me and a 3/8 inch wood plug cutter cut felt wad for it. Since I do not know of and conical or sabot available for the smaller calibers and a 32 PRB is very short ranged the conical from Dixie gun works makes the 36 in a medium twist[1 in 48 ] worth considering. I could not find a fast twist.

A .32 is good for squirrels, but a little light for coyotes. Unless you can get close. Not easy with a coyote.

71gr bullet
50FFF
Or Pyrodex P Volume Equivalent
2025 FPS

That would be pleasant to shoot.

Can you imagine if someone made 40X3xx sabots and a 40cal barrel with the right twist. That would be a heck of a fun gun with 50gr charges and a variety bullets.

IMO there are likely more 40cal owners that would be interested in sabots than 36cal. Fast twist 36cals are pretty rare.

I had a traditions Deerhunter, and a Traditions Crockett rifle, both in .32. I couldn't get the Deerhunter to shoot very well, but the Crockett was a fine squirrel rifle inside 25 or 30 yards (after a long struggle with working up a load). I only sold it because I couldn't see the iron sights well enough to comfortably hunt with. It's a shame, because it was a lot of fun to shoot.
I don't know how far it would be good for a coyote with my load, but I've heard of people pouring .310 conicals and that may be something to look into.
