Builder - you young whippersnapper. PRBs have been humanely killing critters long before any one of us were a twinkle in our daddy's eye. And they will continue to do so long after we are gone. A big heavy conical is fine for big nasty toothy critters. But for deer, black bear and hogs, which is what most of us use our MLs for, niether of these animals would know if they got hit with a big old .54 cal PRB or a conical. And the latter may just cause more tissue damage thereby wasting more delicious meat.

No matter. I know the PRB will bring them down too. I you know what muley? I've come to the conclusion that IMO, elk are easier to kill than a whitetail. Those little buggers are tenacious about hanging on to life.

. i have shot a few of those critters myself and IMHO the conical is the way to go. that .430 maxi muley was fooling around with is what i used in my .54 renegade and stops those elks in there tracks.i would not chance a RB with elk period and 53 isn't that young
