$3.97 a gallon here last time I checked. And I have over an hour to drive in a V6 S-10 pickup. It won't be cheap but if it doesn't rain all day tomorrow I'm going to the range. So with gas, powder and bullets it should cost me about $40.00. OUCH!

Nothing is cheap anymore. Went bear hunting this spring 5 times. Seen no bear and gas total for the season cost me 450.00. So it all sucks. I don't want to think about the main hunting is going to cost in gas.

On the other hand, you could go see the new Pirates of the Caribbean movie, buy a drink, popcorn, and box of candy, and spend your $40 that way.

I wonder what the police would say if I just slung my muzzleloader over my shoulder and drove my motorcycle to the range?
The gas mileage would be a lot better than my truck, lol.

i'm pretty lucky. The Ft. Sill private weapons range is about 15 miles away. 13 miles in the other direction is a friends 100 yard range. One of our places has a range to 250 yards but the place is 76 miles from home: We get there about once a month.

Hey, you're lucky - $4.35 a gallon here is the cheapest I've seen in awhile.....

The deer hunting is good here I have a hunting property 9 minutes drive from home and there is decent public hunting about 15 miles from home the club range is 5 minutes away but for boar or bear I have to go much farther. If the wife and I could both enjoy good health for a while I could do a lot.
