Default T/C Impact

I am considering buying a T/C Impact.

I would appreciate any input: good, bad and ugly.

Many thanks,

Paul

I bought one last fall. I Love It!

Took it out of the box, cleaned it. First shot was 25 yards-right through the X. The next 2 shots were from 50 yds. Final tally: 2.5 inch group. Never touched the sights.

A few weeks later it brought down a beautiful doe at 115 yds.

I would definitely recommend it. My other rifle is a CVA Buckhorn, I absolutely like the Impact better. The only time the CVA comes out is when the wife wants to shoot.

The local gunshop I go to regularly sold a bunch of them last fall. A guy I know that works there told me awhile back that some of the guys that bought their Impacts from them are reporting excellent accuracy with their rifles. Seems like a nice muzzleloader for the money.

Don't they have the same barrel as the Omega?

It appears to be a cross-breed design in my opinion. Its a break-action like a Triumph, but has a breech plug that looks like the Omega/original Encore. It may very well be the same breech plug- I'm not sure.

Impact has a 26" barrel versus 28" for Triumph/Omega. Stock is adjustable for length of pull. The outside diameter of the barrel also appears to be similar or the same as the Omega. The Triumph has a smaller outside diameter barrel measurement.

It would be easy enough to cut the Omega barrel shorter and use it. Much easier for TC to do it that way.

I almost bought the Impact, but at the last minute went with the Omega. I'm sure the Impact would have satisfied me too.
