I read about the stock after I bought the gun. I reworked it so the barrel floats now. I sighted it in on sand bags. I figured that would be equal to the sticks i'll use hunting.

One thing I don't like is the stock is too low for a scope. I'm thinking of buying something to raise the comb.

I didn't mess with the thumbhole stock, because it appears to be for right hand shooters, and i'm a lefty.

I think you should get the one you dont have. The problem is, you have them all.:happy0001:

I wish I had them all. I'm just a poor old guy.

You are correct it is for right hand shooters.... only 12% of the population is lefthanded like you and I but I do shoot right handed.. The comb on the thumbhole is higher and set for a scope - but that does not do you any good...

There is a quick easy way is a lift pad like this...

Instaed of buying them I now make them out of a heavy piece of leather and then put bubble wrap underneat to adjust the height.

I'm not really left handed. When I lost the sight in my right eye I had to learn to shoot left handed. It doesn't feel natural at all, but what can I do? So many years of shooting right handed. Left handed will never feel as good.

That pad you make is what i'm going to buy. I've found a few that look pretty good.

I'm still waiting for my special permit from the DOW to use a scope for ML season. I don't want to spend any more money until I get it. I might have to go back to open sights, and then the stock will be fine as is.

You would think that granting that would be a no brainer... but with politics you just never know!!!

I know i'll get flak from the other hunters, and probably get stopped by every warden out there, but I don't care.

It's more humane for the elk if I can take an accurate shot.

Sorry, I didn't see it, and kicked it in the river.

My bad.
