Truglo TG958G
Most of you probably don't have to use open sights like we do in WA so you probably can't help me. These Truglo TG958G sights are the latest rage here in WA, it seems a lot of guys are taking off their williams sights and putting these on. TruGlo Muzzle-Brite Xtreme Universal Muzzleloader Globe Front & Ghost Ring Rear. They are supposed to really help with long shoots where your front bead would normally cover up too much of the target to be acurate. I don't have experience with either sight, so before I drop 50 bucks on a sight I am looking for a little feedback. Thanks, Steve.

I found these reviews:
http://www.opticsplanet.com/reviews/...um-sights.html I think they are pretty neat, I would give them a try if I was not permitted to use a scope. |
I think they are pretty cool too but im not a big TruGlow fan....atleast not in their scopes. Many states do allow a 1x scope or AimPoint type sights. I think Traditions sells a 1X that is cheap enough (sub $50) to try without breaking the bank.
Or you can get a Doctors note. :D |
I replaced the stock sights on my omega with those Tru-glo's.
They are awesome and I really like them. I have a lot more confidence at longer ranges using the globe sight. I'm sure you will be completely satisfied with them. |

I agree the globe sight looks very interesting. The MK came with a standard front globe cover and i think it would be great with a good peep in the rear. They convert to a ghost ring pretty easy with a larger aperture.

Red Dots are not the answer. Tried them, took them off. Anyone want to buy some? 1x scope are a great thing for those states... where they are legal. But if your down to peep sights or open sights.. I like that one you showed because of the open top which would help to put light on the sights in low light conditions. Also the accuracy of the peep sights is proven to be much better FOR SOME PEOPLE then the open sight system. I think that would be a good choice. I have a Williams Peep sight on one rifle. They are very accurate to aim. I had a T/C Hunters Peep sight on a rifle and had some problems with it in low light, so I took it off and went to a 1x scope.

Is there a way to use the globe front sight on an Omega?
The Omega doesn't use a dovetail, and it looks the Tru-Glow does. |

I have and prefer a peep rear with globe front with interchangeable inserts. Not much on fiber optics. Except on my bow of course.
