Default BH Smucks BH

The scope with the fancy reticle is still new to me so i dreamed up a video to make, using the scope. The camera was set up so it could see the water filled BH jug on the left, and the truck out there at 210 yard from the jug. My dream was to capture the smoke from the rifle before the bullet hit the jug. The reflection of the sun off the truck kinda detracts from the first couple pictures by hiding the expanding smoke.

The rifle used was the Accura, and the scope was the 3-9 ultralight Leupold with the fancy reticle.

The load was 115g of BH209, the bullet was the 260g Harvester PT in the short black Harvester sabot, and the primer was the W209.

The video.

The camera say it was set to shoot 30 frames per second, and there are 12 frames from the time the smoke from the rifle appears until the jug is hit; i guess it took the bullet about 12/30 = 0.4 second to travel 210 yard.

The entry hole is hard to see because it hit on the picture of the non-compatible breech plug.

There happened to be some turkey hunters in a blind up the hill in front of the truck, and the gun shot scared them into yelling at me. Naturally, i couldn't hear them, but the camera did. I saw there rig, but couldn't see them; didn't realize they were so close. I gathered up the camera, and jug, and left them to hunt in peace.

Dang Ron, that's a great shot. You're going to have to switch to 6 oz. bottles just for the challenge.

You're under arrest.

Shooting from vehicle.

Shooting from road.

Killing a jug.

Making smoke.

Pretty cool, also gives a time prospective for those far away targets. I would guess a walking deer would move about 4 feet in .04 of a second.
