Just kidding. Is that a 1 in 28 inch twist in a 28 inch barrel?

My last range sesion produced a 1.25 inch group at 100 yards with a scope that turned into a 2 inch group with open sights at 50 yards.

It looks like if you throw out the third shot on the majority of those targets you would have had an excellent day. Did you swab the bore after every shot?

What that tells you is this is how these bullets and sabots will group with 95grs of FFF Goex...

I don't like to take several different bullets and sabots to the range...I like to go with them one at a time and find what powder charge they like and then move to the next combo...

Who knows, maybe they they love 90grs???

As far as the loose steering...Is this a tractor with a worm gear where you can loosen the lock nut to adjust the play???

I hope you have better luck with the fiber optic sight than I do they increase the size of my groups considerable.

Yes I did Pluckit. One side of one alcohol patch between shots.

I like to do it that way too nchawkeye, and it's what I usually do. This was just a play around session to see what happened.

It's an old 1950's Ford with tie rods ends and joints/bushings that are in about the same condition as my 1940's body (pretty much shot).

I really don't do well with fiber optics either Lee. I much prefer the tall, wide, flat blade on my Great Plains and will probably get around to changing it out one day.

Try some big conicals.I have shot bullets up to 495 grains with good results in my LRH .50 cal flint barrels.I harvested 2 deer with 460 No Excuses pushed by 75 grains of 3F Swiss last season.ripshod
