Default Two Bang Flop Sows

Got two sows with my cheap old CVA StagHorn this evening. Pictures will follow tomorrow.

Distance: 40 and 60 yards

Gun: CVA StagHorn
Scope: Weaver Grand Slam 3X10 set on 4X
Bullet: 240 Grain .452 XTP Magnum
Sabot: Black MMP
Powder: 100 grains of 2F Goex Pinnacle
Primer: Winchester shotgun

Was sitting in a blind this evening watching a pond. At about 6:30 four sows came in. i picked the biggest one and aimed for a high shoulder shot. Bang flop. This sow weighed 200-220 pounds on the hoof. This is probably the second hog that i've shot with the 240 grain .452 XTP Magnum bullet.

Stayed in the blind. At about 8:05 seven hogs came in. All were about the same size; around 100-120 pounds. Shot one of the sows in the head and got another bang flop.

Your a good pig exterminator. Congratulations on the hogs. Are you going to eat these or donate them? That CVA Staghorn of yours is a real pig gun.

You sure are a good exterminator, wish our hogs would show themselves more in the daylight hours.

Falcon,

I'm guessing the second one was in the dark at 8:00 pm. I know you can legally shoot shoot hogs 24/7 but how do you see them?

I know we're trying to keep the feral hogs out of KS but it would be fun to shoot them.

We will keep the big one since we are about out of pork for the house. Smaller one will be given away.

The crosshairs on that scope are fairly easy to see in low light. There is decent light now until about 8:15. i was facing east: That is easier because of the afterglow of the setting sun. Shooting toward the west at this time of evening is more difficult.

BACON!!!!!!

The only good feral hog is a dead feral hog. My state is shoot on site and no limits. One of my leases they kill them by the dozens but i don't care for their hunting methods. They drive them with quads and open fire with semi autos once they are packed up tight.

Its not a hunt...its a slaughter and they almost never eat them.
