Default Was out at the range with the 50 flinter

I been trying a few Buffalo SSb 325 gr. in my 1977 t/c flinter barrel
and with 85 grains of goex 3F I can drive 3 shots in the same hole with peep sight at the 100 yd target from the bench.
The bullet/sabot seem the best I ever seen the gun shoot.I own it for about 15 years original stock Hawkens but flip it into a PA. hunter stock with a single trigger.I did some honing to sear and change the sear spring the trigger breaks at 2 3/4lbs.
I will say Patched R/B with .017 pillow patch material and 90 gr of 3F will do well at the 100 yd but not as good as the buffalo SSB.

Lonewolf, that is a nice rifle. But come on seriously, 3 shot into the same hole at 100 yds with a flintlock?! I've been shooting for over 45 years and with some high quality rifles and the best I've ever done was a .23" 3 shot group at 100 yds. and .375" at 200 yds and both of these groups were with different 7-08 centerfire rifles.
I think either you added a "0" to that distance or you're pulling our leg. Come on - fess up.

Well bronko, he might have been shooting at a two foot hole in the target backer board. It's just a matter of perspective.

You know Semi, I never thought of that. The size of the hole was never specified. And he never did say he shot at 100 yds. Only that it was at the 100 yd bench! I guess I may owe lonewolf an apology. BTW, thanks for sending me that test. Appreciated it.

I'll never question anyone's group again.
Nice group and good shooting.

Well if we're going to talk peep sights & 100 yards, here's about the best I've been able to do. And I'll tell you - I was dang proud of that.
