Default Navy Arms Side by Side

I have a chance to buy a Navy Arms side by side cap lock.

Any insight on quality or value? He claims it's in perfect shape.

Thanks,

Every Navy Arms SxS I've seen was of fine quality. I know the early ones were made by Pedersoli and marked with both Navy Arms and Pedersoli. I don't know if Navy Arms had any made by other manufacturers. Ask the seller if the gun has the Pedersoli name on one of the barrels.

If it's in top shape with smooth shiney bores, I would put the used value at somewhere between $450 and $550, and that would be a pretty good deal. New SxS caplocks go for something like eight or nine hundred.

If its a Perdersoli, i think you will really like it. My cheap Ovation had a great barrel and im still looking for a Denali. Cabelas sells them as a Kodiak Express rifle IIRC also. Get a matching caliber Howdah pistol and you got some serious fire power.

Shotgun - Browned barrels.

I don't know much about the pros and cons on brown vs blue. Any insights?

Brown is just another form of bluing.

I have a pedroselli sxs 10 ga shot gun, chromed barrels and I do shoot steel out it to duck and goose hunt.

Fun gun to use

Navy Arms also sold Pietta SXS shotguns under their name.
I read a thread about someone having a problem with their
Pietta shotgun lock and another poster replied that Dixie
sells replacement locks, trigger groups and mainsprings that
fit the Navy Arms/Pietta shotgun.
I believe that they're also very good shooters.
