Finally Got to Shoot my New Percu.
#21
Shoot rafsob i have brain burn out cuz i come to these places and read what people discuss then I spend lots of valuable time thinking.... At my age i do not have time to spend a lot of time thinking.
I know Randy W will tell you that you can not condition a bore of a modern steel rifle, but all metal has pores... and when the metal heats the pores open - pores can store materials.... even if you wipe the bore with alcohol you can get the surface oils out of the bore - but you still have a certain amount trapped in the pores.
But the real thing is if your process has worked for you... why would you change, just keep on doing because what you are doing has been shown to work.
Shoot for more years than I care to count I used BB without ever any problems... I always believed it was in the way it was applied made the difference - then when the new blue BB stuff came out already applied to a patch it was perfect. BB and the blue T17 seemed to solve my crud ring problem - at least keep it to a minimum and it just plain worked. I would still be using it if I had not found Slip 2000 and then Montana X-treme Bore conditioner....
If it works for you - it works....
