Default More on the new Knights

I know I posted this on the other Knight thread, but it was also nine pages deep and I think a lot of the people that may be interested gave up reading after 4 or 5 pages.
I emailed Knight yesterday to ask if there were going to be any new models in May. I also figured I would try to find out about the breech plug on the Mountaineer - is it an all new design or just a repurposed one?
Here's the response I got.

Mr Horn
Thank you for contacting Knight Rifles and your interest in the new lineup! Currently what is on the website is what we will out available this season. The rumors you hear may be about next year, which we do have some plans on another new gun.
The Mountaineer will come with a new stainless steel breech plug by Lehigh Defense, and is a far superior breech plug in performance. Also, the bolt is a new designed for bare primers that self-extracts the primer once the bolt is unloaded.
We are hoping to have more detailed information on the website about this shortly.
Thanks!

That's great news and the mountaineer looks like a nice rifle.

I was pretty sure Lehigh was involved with the new Mountaineer breach plug design. He is likely involved with the Knight NFPJ conversion for the Extreme also. That should be a good indication that they will both be very BH209 friendly. It would be nice to know if the new ones use a vent liner too.

During the prototype testing before Knight was sold they had tested the "Slam" with BH209 also. It was a bare primer plug but had a powder pocket kinda like the FPJ plugs and a .037+ flash hole. According to TB that one also worked very well with BH209 but was dirtier with a larger flash hole. IIRC they made the hole smaller in the last version and it worked much better.

I am curious how much different the new bolt is vs the one on the Slam prototype. That one looked pretty cool.
