Default 2010 deer/euro mount

snuck up on this guy in his bedding grounds the 2nd day of regular firearm season.i was a very happy hunter.



i used 100+year old chestnut i salvaged from a job for the plaque

Great buck, you did a fine job with that mount. What did you use to remove most of the flesh. I boiled one once and picked off meat for hours. Ants finished it up for me.

You did a Nice Job, they look Good!
I'll be doing My Second one, the 9pt I got this past ML Season, it takes some time but it's worth it.

deer655;i use my turkey frier and boil apx 3hrs,scrape/cut the skin off and boil another 3 hours scrape agin, then soak in water/bleach overnight.i dry about 1wk then give them a light coat of sprayed satin clearcoat..........karl

Instead of scraping, try a small wire brush - the ones that are a little larger than an toothbrush. I use the stainless steel brushes from Harbor Freight. Works real well.

I had a euro mount done and it's starting to turn yellow (the skull), so obviously he didn't coat it right. Anyone have any suggestions on getting it back to white and keeping it that way?
