I have never used one, or seen one for that matter. A very interesting idea though. And I see no reason why it would not work. Plus the jaws of the lock have a very uniform area to grab, so it would make a very secure pin. If it gets 120 sparks like claimed that would be a very good deal. If you get one, be sure to report on how it works.

The original wheel lock was very good, it had a clock type mechanism that you cranked up which spun a wheel like the wheel on a lighter. It was very expensive the flint lock more or less put it out of business because it was comparatively cheap.
