Jump it up to $300 and get the .54 flint trade rifle from Lyman's site here - http://www.lymanproducts.com/store/page191.html Then you will have yourself a lifetime fun gun and deer killer.

You want a lesson in frustration???

Buy a cheap flintlock...

A decent lock will easily run $150...

No such thing as a cheap flintlock.

The cheap ones are more head ache then fun.

That Lyman Trade Rifle is a good flintlock. I have one. It is a meat taker and a good shooter. It will not let you down. nchawkeye hit it right on the head with the cheap flintlock idea.

probolem is the season in kentucky ios otwo days, and im not going to invest that much into it.I just think they are cool and chalinging

Put that two-day season out of your mind. What's important is the amount of fun you will have shooting a flintlock year round. You might even find yourself using the flinter during the ten-day regular gun season.

You can't master the skills it takes to learn how to make a flintlock reliable in 2 days...
