IMO: For the price that TC charges for their guns they sure could do a much better job on the bore.

I have to agree! The guy at Thompson Center was very nice and wants to make it right, so customer service is not an issue, but the "tight" bores seem to be common with TC. I spent the extra money for a high quality gun so I wouldn't have to worry about issues. I am going to try polishing the barrel and see what happens. Worst case scenario is sharing my wife's Accura this weekend.

Right on. i won't be buying any BlackHorn 209. A friend has been out of town for months. Had breakfast with him yesterday and listened to his tail of woe. Seems like his Encore loved BlackHorn until it came time to shoot that huge 7x7 elk. Yep, it fizzled. It's back to Pyrodex for him.

I hardly think that is BH209's fault...there are too many variables to say that it is. I've left the same load in for 4 weeks and it went bang (I know others have left loads using other powders for longer). With one exception, I have never had a load of BH209 fizzle on me. Goes bang on time, every time. The only time it didn't, the powder charged was soaked from heavy rain. Should I blame BH209? Probably.

Is that the yellow sabot? The yellow ones are very tight in my Omega. I've shot some of the 285gr. spit fire over 100gr of BH and they are very accurate.

the sabots that come with the TEZ's are blue!

BTW, try the Harvester Black crushed rib sabot. You should be able to seat it with no issue.

It would be worth a try with a Harvester black crushed ribbed sabot before you go to much trouble. I use the yellow cr with the 250 gr TMZ's in my Pro Hunter and my buddy uses the black cr with his 250 gr TEZ's in his Endeavor.
