Default T/C Weathershield Protection ?

T/C says Weathershield is a coating to protect the metal from corrosion, and rust. Is this better than a stainless steel barrel ? what about the bore ? I've always liked a stainless barrel on my muzzleloaders for its resistance to rust, and corrosion, over a blued barrel. I do know that you still need good cleaning practices to maintain even a stainless ML. How is the bore of a Weathershield barrel protected ? Is it more resistant to rust, or is it the same as a blued barrel ?

The coating is only on the outside not the inside.i chose the plain jane triumph since there several great products out there you can apply to the outside of the barrel to protect it.

I have the weathershield on my Omega and so far so good. I hunted in rain/sleet for a full day, then snow the next three days, and no rust on the outside.
