Default 777 and Hawkin

Has anybody tried 777 loose in a side lock such as a Hawken?

I used T7 3f and RWS 1075 caps in a Lyman GPH rifle with no problems.

It's all I shoot from my Hawken's. I like the easy hot water clean-up. Also, I've had partially used bottles around for several (8-10) months w/ no negative effects on the powder the next time I load it.

Yep!! 50grn of T7-3f with a 200 grn LEE REAL bullet and it will cut out the center of pot shot card x's at 25yds till you get tired of loading it!!! Great target load and I go up to 80 grn with same bullet to hunt with.

That is kinda unfair... you would get kicked off that board just for asking that that question over there.

Chasam, i agree with SL, they'll say reeeeeaaal black powder is the best! I shot that pyro / T7 and got nothing but hang fires with it!

LOL

T7 will do fine in a sidelock, if you do get hang fires, i find its mostly due to a tiny hair thickness flash hole in the nipple.
