You Guy's are a-lot different than I am. When I find a MLer that is a Shooter it becomes a part if me, it's like you know it will do the job so why get another when this one wont let you down.
And as you use it more and more you both become like one and a part of eachother and it's hard to part with and go to another. Sure I have more than one, but like a Good Women, there's many out there, but when you find the right one you marry it for life and never look back. And as time passes better one's may come along but a True Friend will always be there for you and never let you down when you need them, as your Ol Trusty Mler. You've been through so much togeather and he's been there when you needed him the most, and he's always been true.
There might be a little Dust on the Barrel, but dont let it fool you about what he can do.
It's like one of My FORD F150 4X4 Tucks, I bought Her New in 1990, She's been a Good Girl and after 20 Years She still go's through the deepest Snow and Starts every Morning, She may not look like the Newist Model, but put Her up against them and she'll shine every time. Old Mabey, Unreliabe, NEVER!
Dont forget your Old Friend.

You just got me thinking about my first. My 50 caliber Thompson Center Hawkins.I put her aside for my new inlines and haven't taken her out this year. The first time she hasn't been out in more than 20 years. Now you have me feeling guilty.

I have two of the Hawkens Carbines. One is the carbine you mentioned:

This is one of the sweatest little side locks I have ever had the plesure of humping in the woods. I shoot a Barnes Expander saboted bullet and it is a fantastic bullet. I nailed a large doe a few years ago and it went straight down. The through shot looked like a tunnel.

I also have one in .50 cal. that I shoot PRB and it has a twist rate of 1 in 66".
