Shockwave hollow point.

just puttin a thread out there explaining the miss understanding in my post earlier, the bullet in the pic that i used was a XTP 240 grain hollow point not a shockwave hollow point, i have alot of different sabots and just got them confused with each other, the shockwave does have a ballistic type tip on the bullet and its not a hollow point.
and in my opinion i like the XTP tho i didnt get a complete pass threw it did do alot of damage on the inside, and when i got the muzzle loader out this year to sight the gun in i bought the shockwave bullets and tried them and didnt really feel that they were what i was wanting, so i bought the regular type hollow points ( the XTP) and i was shooting and holding tighter groups at 50 yrds and 100 yrds, really i think it just depends on the gun, the shooter and the type of setup that each person is using.

I kinda figured that looking at the bullet, I try to see what the writer writes before i guess at what he was saying...
I guess I like you am a bit surprised that it did not exit at that range and with that load, unless you went through a decent bone on the way through. But, the way the bullet looks it looks like a perfect mushroom caused by the liquid content of the organs in the chest cavity.
In my little world the force the bullets hits the target and the damage it does to all the organs in the cavity is a key to success of a quick harvest.

I really do not know, but the size of that mushroomed bullet was nearly perfect - I really believe that it would not create enough frontal area drag to stop the exit. Although, I guess I should confirm that it was close to a broadside shot not a sharp quartering or brisket shot???
i guess there must be alot of drag on the bullet to slow it down enough not letting it have enough pressure to puncher through the exit,

Lance 23,
I thinks your bullet worked perfectly. You couldn't ask for a better looking recovered bullet.
Sorry for the turmoil My question started, it was not my intention to take anything away from your great harvest. I Think your choice of XTP over the Shock Wave was a very good choice.
Enjoy your moment!
