Default First Muzzleloader

Hi all I just bought a new ML it's a T/C Z5 Omega.I would like any advise on bullets and what powder to use.I'm thinking of using it here in PA's regular firearm's Deer season and Bear season.So maybe there's a bullet and powder load i can use for both.I'm not new to hunting just new to muzzleloader's

I shoot a variety of bullets in my Omega or any of my other ML's but an inexpensive bullet you might want to try is a Speer Gold Dot/Deep Curl. I shoot both the .452/250 grain and the .452/300 grain. The 250 is made for the 45 Colt and the 300 is made for the 454 Casual. With either of these two bullets I shoot 110 grains of T7-2f.

The next thing is to find a sabot that will fit down your bore. You will probably need to start with a Harvester 5045CR (Crush Rib).

Semi fixed it.... when I was typing this I had just finished reading a FG post that bothered me....

Sabotloader's typing fingers got dyslexia!

Or maybe he just does funny math. Here's the translation.

425 = 452
259 = 250

But don't be critical, he's pretty old ya` know.

i have several omega muzzleloaders,most of which like 95-as much as 115grs pyrodex rs.several like the hornady 300gr xtp bullet,an the other likes the shockwaves....either the 250gr or the 300gr bullet.i personally like loose powder....haven't tried the blackhorn powder too much to give my honest opinion yet,some on this board like it and have good luck with it.an for what it's worth i can not stand powerbelt bullets,maybe good for some target practice ..imo....good luck with your new ml an let us know how she shoots.

that will work just fine for the first year when you have time you may want to use T7 powdered powder. You can fine tune easier.

On the last question, Definantly the XTP. I Use a the @40 gr. XP with 90 grains loose, Its great. Shot a deer last year adn found the bullet in the hide (Bad shot went from front shoulder to the opposite hind leg) and it was mushroomed bigger than a quarter. Which is good
