Don't those ultra mags have the Clerke barrels on them? I am pretty sure that gun of Chet's has the Wilson barrel.

I got this gun from a forum member and he was nice enough to give me a box of bullshops, 3 different ones. So they should be the right ones for it. I will get it shooting good with them,( hopefully) it will just take me a little longer

I will try not swabbing, habits are hard to break:D I shot up all the NEX ones but didn't try the UC 's yet. I will try the others next trip out. as well as a few more different powder charges. Thanks for the conicals because an order from Dan usually takes a while.

You are correct the Umag does have a Clerke. From Chet's description of how easy the 504 went down... that is what promted my repsonse of the .5045...

I think the .504 went down way to easy, I didn't know there was a .5045 but I think I would try that and see. I don't know much about White's so I'm not sure what barrel is on it.I wonder if paper patching the No Excuse .503's would work?

Chet, the wilson barrel has kind of a stepped down crown. You can knurl your bullets between two files and make them a bit tighter. If you want a few bullets that are a .5045 I can send you some.
BTW I have never tried shooting saboted bullets out of my Whites but that group of yours makes me want to try it!!!

Ah Flounder! the White can do it all.... sabots are no problem... In the case of the UMag you do have to use the thick ones...

Chet, this is the crown on the Clerke barrel - it is the GOOD crown...

Ok - these went out in the mail today to you... so be looking for them. They shot very well in my White but did not do so well in Dave's or the Chief's 91. I have not had time to test my White again to see if it was just dumb blind luck... I was shooting them with 110 & 120 grains of T7. Need to kick them in the rear to get the brass cup to expand to the bore.

These are still in the testing stage... still need to make some revisions....
