First Session with the .32 Pedersoli as a FLINTLOCK
#12
The little .32 I had (and miss) was very finicky. It took me several outings to figure out what it wanted. I tried .310 and .315 balls, several pre-lubed and several self-lubed patches, and loads going from 15 up to 45 grains of 3F black powder and T7. I burnt up quite a bit of powder and several hundred balls in the process. I finally found out that it shot best with spit-lubed pillow ticking (don't know the thickness) with a .310 ball and 25 grains of 3F T7. I'm sure the load could have been adjusted to give me a bit more accuracy, but once I got it to hold a pattern the size of a bushytail's head, I was off to the woods! It proved to be very effective out to 30 yards.
Keep after it and I'm sure you will find out what it likes (and the squirrels don't like
