Congratulations on your harvest
The flex tip SST is one of the worst bullets i ever used. I would consider XTP'S and Gold dots in the lower price range. My first choice in premium bullets would be the Lehigh. My second choice would be the Parker ballistic extremes.

Congrat's, Im Glad your Hooked and Nice Buck! I had a Friend who used them SST's and had similar experiences, but two of them wer'nt as good as yours. I talked him into using what I do, Hornady XTP Mags 240gr. I have used them for almost 15 years and have never lost a Deer, but what I like best is the Fist Sized Entrance Holes on some of them, most are the size of a Half Dollar and a Blood Trail anyone could follow.
Gee you started ML Hunting on the 16th and that's the day our Archery Season Started, cant use the ML untill Gun Season, NOV 20th, then we only have Late ML Season that starts Dec 13th and last for 10 Days.
I Wish you all the Success in your MLer Seasons to come!

Congrats on on real beauty, and quite a story, I go with the crowd in that Id ditch the SSTs . Although I dropped my first ML deer (doe) with one of them from a Traditions Pursuit, too many stories like yours of lack of good blood. Barnes 250 TEZ, and 250 Speer Deep Curls are gonna be in my load this year..
