Below is the target from my Knight Revolution. It is shooting the first shot or two high and right. As you can see, the first shot today is right next to the first two shots from last weekends trip (the black circles to the right of it). The next two are almost the same hole which is right next to a covered hole from the last trip. So the gun is definitely putting the first shots out of a cold barrel high and right. I am going to adjust the scope for that which will put the follow up shots just low and left.

Now the TC Encore didn't even hit the target!
I had another target like this just to the right and used it for the Encore. I didn't hit it at all until I aimed at the bullseye on the left target. Then I hit the right target about 8" to 10" right of the bullseye I was aiming at. It was windy today, and I actually missed the targets completely with the Knight once or twice so I am chalking it up to that. But I am worried.
I will definitely be getting both guns to the range a few more times before season to get this sorted out.

i'd check the mounts. My nephews Wolf was acting up a couple months ago and i pulled the scope and found the base screws slightly loose.
Nothing to get stressed over. You will get it fixed up and shooting back to normal

I personally do not have much faith in some of the Sporting Goods employees when it comes to their knowledge of items and what they are doing. Now I am not saying all of the employees are like that. But I met a few that.. well its a good thing they have to stock shelves or they would be unemployed.
That should fix your problem. I use lock tight on the base screws when I install them as I have no desire to remove them in the future.

IMO all the person behind the counter cares about is making a firearm sale to fatten the wallet. Can't really blame them but still, a happy customer is always better than a repeat, im going to ream you a new hole customer.

He mounted the scope and rings on both guns and it seems he got everything right except the one ring. I am disappointed about that, but hopefully this fixes the problem and I can get the gun shooting well in the next trip to the range.
I would do it myself but I don't buy guns often so it isn't worth buying a bore sight.

you can bore sight your own rifle with a cardboard box and a hallway. Put a flashlight in the breech plug area and shine it down range 13 yards on a wall. Then adjust the scope to the center of the light. It will put you on paper normally at 25 yards.
I cut a V in the two ends of the box and set the rifle in that V. Then use that as my rest.

I do it similar to Cayugad, I have a set up for working on and cleaning that holds the gun and a laser pointer that I stick in the breach with the breach plug out, I wedge it in with paper or rags. If you do it this way watch that the laser dot is round if it is not recenter the laser.

On most of my MZ's the first cold bore shot shoots a little different from my follow up shots. But for my hunting rifle I am only concerned where that first cold bore shot goes. That is why I do not shoot groups with my MZ when sighting it in for hunting.
I normally always sight my rifle in for hunting in the same type weather that I will be hunting in. And then I completely clean the barrel before every shot, and allow about 15 minutes between shots. It takes a lot of time but it works for me.
If my first cold bore shot cuts the X at the designated distance then that is all I care about. I do not get follow up shots on deer with an MZ. So where that second shot goes means very little to me.
Heck in alot of the modern MZ's it is very difficult to even get that second load down a dirty barrel. How many guys have ran into that?? I had an amazingly accurate Omega that you could not get a second shot down the barrel-period. It would not go. The barrel had to be cleaned. My two Encore MZ's were similar. I know they make looser fitting sabots, but they did not shoot as well for me.
I can not tell you how many times I have seen a guy "sight in" an MZ, then he can not hit the target the following week with the same rifle with a cold bore. What good is that ??
That is why I go through my regiment. I know it is time consuming, and not the fun way to do it. But it works. And for my serious hunting rifle that is what I want. Just an opinion. Tom.
