Default 32'' barrel on renegade

Is a 32'' barrel going to work on a Renegade. Now that I"m thinking. I might pick up a 32'' 1:70 twist .54 cal GM Barrel Perc. and change the breech plug over to a flint. But the standard barrel is 27'' on a Renegade. So that is a five inch difference. Is it going to look stupied or is the stock going to handle it?

Sure a 32" barrel would work on a Renegade.. The very first GM drop in's with a fast twist were 32" - I got two of them but I cut them both to 27".

With the extra length you will have more room to burn more powder..

You guys keep making me spend money. So I picked up a 1:70 .54 GM barrel from Track of the Wolf. Also the correct flintlock breech plug. So the game plan is when I receive the barrel and plug, i'm going to drop it off at the gunsmith. Have him take the perc. breech plug off the GM barrel and put on the flint breech plug. Then take the new perc. breech and put that on the old barrel. So I will have a .54 flint and .54 perc. So all I need now is a flintlock lock. But that will have to wait. Will I have to make any mods to my stock changing out the locks (perc/flint) ???? Or if anyone has a extra renegade stock. HEHEHEHE

Thats a gorgeous rifle. You must have redone the stock. Doesn't look bad at all with the long barrel and half stock. Started looking at track of the wolf and now i'm thinking that i may make a project out of the new flint barrel. Get the stock and everything at track of the wolf. Make a custom flinter with a TC Renegade look. Oh once you get the muzzleloader bug it never lets go.

yep: the above renegade was put together rifle ,stock purchased for 80.00 got my hands on a lock that the sear was broke and never re-assembled,the barrel was a lucky find NOS t/c custom barrel and yes the stock striped glasses bedded and finished with Formby's tung oil.
The 54 round ball barrel will drive RB like tacks wiith 95 grain of 3F goex
a great winter project
