I like to buy little things like this on E-Bay. Normally if you look hard enough you can find a good deal. And they do not charge you an arm and a leg(unless you let them) for shipping and handling. The same bottle of Butch's from Midway(by itself) would have cost over $20, and I got it for a total of $9.99. Which is Midway's selling price for the oil only(not including their S&H). Tom.

I guess my $3 8oz. spray cans of "Blaster" PB50 All-Purpose Lubricant from Home Depot are just an embarrassment. :sad:

It's just being thrifty. A few years ago i bought a whole bunch of Rem Oil and Pro-Tec bore cleaner from a Gibson's store that was going out of business. The prices on that stuff are 50 cents for the Rem Oil and 99 cents for the Pro Tec. Got a lifetime supply of both for around $30.

After reading most of the posts - I will get in late with a couple.

I do not use Rem Oil in the bore as it contains teflon - use it on the outside a lot but I do not want teflon in the bore.

I started using a product called Slip 2000 a couple of years ago - it is really and excellent bore protectant...

With both of these products a very little bit goes a very long ways...

the montana xtreme does go a long way as it comes with a little dripper so you dont over oil the patch. Ive still got almost a full can of the oil and conditioner, it doesnt take much.

like SABOTLOADER i really like slip 2000 and use it with all of my inlines.
for my sidelocks i've been using ballistol which also has worked fine for me....karl

I'm a bit surprised no one has yet said Eezox. Great stuff for cleaning and protection.

I use slip 2000 also. Especially on my AR's. However Slip2000 is a lubricant. It is not a rust inhibitor. However I will check the package, because I do not remember then advertising as a rust inhibitor. So I could be wrong about that. But I know for sure that it is touted as a high heat lubricant. Tom.
