I turned them round with a drill press and file Archer, and was going to finish the job with the press. But a buddy came by the house and saw what I was doing. He volunteered to take them to the plant where he works and get the drilling and concave cut done on a lathe - much better than I could have done. Now, with the economy the way it is, his company announced "no more personal work in the machine shop". Damn shame.

I like that sight a lot and think I could turn some of those out on my drill press in the garage. Really great job. I like the idea of being able to change the peep for different shooting situations.

The issue with the sight is windage and elevation adjustment Archer. But if you're a "tinkerer" they are solvable.

For windage, you can drill the stud hole in the nut a little to the left or right of center. For elevation, you can use a shorter or longer stud and/or thicker or thinner o-rings and washers.

I was lucky. I drilled the stud hole in the center of the flat of the nut and my loads were pretty well centered on the target. I solved the elevation problem by making an adjustable front sight.

My adjustable front sight: I filed the front sight flat, then rounded and coned a small brass nut and soldered it to the sight. Then using machine screws with the same thread as the nut, I made a bunch of different lenght posts that can be changed to suit the load. Just unscrew one and screw in a longer or shorter one.

Ya may be a bit off plumb there Semi but you do some very nice work. Nice rifle and some nice machining work. (and a bit clever too I must admit).
