Semi, send that barrel to TC and see what they say. I would like to see what they say. Could be a real hum-dinger of a story.

Good story Semi.
Makes one wonder how a barrel that looks so bad came with a stock that looks so good.

Semi, me being from Arkansas I have done lots of jug fishing for cats. Dont think I've been quite as lucky as you are. What are you using for bait to get such a nice stringer full?

Now that would be something to do when I'm bored Gotbuck. "Dear TC, I love your guns and have always had good luck with them. However, I have one .54 Renegade (barrel enclosed herewith) that just won't shoot nearly as well as my three other Renegades. Also, it's very difficult to load and fouls badly no matter which powder I use. Perhaps the bore is out of spec? Anyway, would you please check this barrel to see if it may have a manufacturing defect, and let me know your findings. There's no need to return it to me. Prehaps you can hang it on the wall in the shop, and start a "Bad Barrel Wall Of Fame" (or maybe even a Dumb Customer Wall Of Fame).

Makes one wonder how a barrel that looks so bad came with a stock that looks so good.
Dburns, the guy's story is that the gun was in a fire and he bought a replacement stock, but thought the barrel would be OK. I believe it. The stock, lock and other furniture are clearly new. The inside of the barrel channel is stamped "RENDTCP" in blue ink. I've never seen that on a TC stock before.

I broke a Renegade stock once and sent it to T/C for repair. They could not repair it so they sent me a new stock. It also is stamped Rene something or other in blue ink... I am not sure if that is one of the Renegades I sold, or which one it is. Next time I clean the rifles I will look for that ink stamp. It is simple a replacement stock.

Semi
The fire makes sense. At any rate you came up with a real nice ml and a story to tell. The stamp could be an inprocess check stamp that didn't get cleaned off before shipping. Durring manufacturing they will do tolarence checks to make sure the part is with in spec. If the part checks out a stamp is put on it and is moved to the next operation.
