muzle loading rifle
I am getting ready to go into muzzle loading for deer hunting I am wanting to get a decent rifle under 400 that has a scope does anybody have any idea of a good one
|
The T/C Triumph is really nice, you may be able to get the blued version for that. I payed $327 at Walmart last year for it. If you go for a cheap scope you may be in your range.

Triumph's got my vote!
|
I bought a CVA Wolf break action mag. this year. It's super easy to clean and very accurate. Plus, it didn't break the bank. I think I paid a $280 for the nickel barrel and camo stock at Gander Mountain. The scope was about $150 for a Bushnell Trophy at a local sporting goods store. I'd rather shoot this ML rather then my
.270 WSM. This is my first year ML hunting and I killed 8 with it this year. Love it!! Good luck to ya. |
All muzzleloading discussions begin and end with TC in my opinion.

Scroll down and there is a specific forum for this with a lot of experienced guys.
The answer is "it depends", what do you want to do with it? |

Not much experience??? :) |
For a beginner, ease of cleaning is very important. You can't beat the speed breach that comes in the Triumph.
|
I agree if u are really serious about getting quality equipment go with Thompson Center their customer service is the best. i shoot a .50 Omega and would upgrade to the triumph but dont like the feel my omega feels like i high powered rifle the triumph just feels awkward to me.
|
I have shot and hunted with an Omega as well. I like the lighter Triumph better. I do not like the Triumph for open sights due to the shape of the stock but it is very comfortable with a scope. I feel both are equally accurate and reliable.
