Have you ever made your own? We did years a go. its takes a bit of time a couple 10-32 nuts a jag and a end off an old wood or plastic ram rod a piece of aluminium doll and a 10-32 screw and a piece of small brazing rod. For tools you need a hand motor drill a drill bit to take the threads out of the ramrod end a drill [#21 to center bore the aluminium doll] a 10-32 tap to tap the aluminium doll and a way to cut the head off the 10-32 screw with out spoiling the threads. It takes a bit of time but thats the only way I could get them before they made them commercially. Lee

No I never tried to make one. I can work with wood, or build a house, but when it comes to metal... forget it. I do have a friend that is very talented in the metal end of things. I might have to discuss this with him. I got him and his two kids involved with muzzleloaders...

Good shooting Cayugad, in what I would consider impossible conditions. I've become real fond of those 200gr./.400 XPTs. As you know, I'm usually a 300 grain bullet fan, but those little 40 caliber things really shoot and have satisfied me as far as effectiveness on game goes.
