Is Dud short for Dudley? It would be befitting for CVA, There guns sure are!

MD It wasn't Knights guns that did them in. They are some of the best. TC and SW also make good guns lets hope they do not make the same foolish errors that Knight did.

true, poor management and no designers did knight in.

I'll repeat my thoughts on these marvelous innovations here for those of you that don't visit MM. ;)

If it is patterned after the Apex breech plug, it won't be a speed breech plug (nor will it be a quick release plug)... it will be a hand-removable breech plug. Meaning only that it takes no tools to remove it. I honestly don't see it as a big plus in that regard, but the plug design also eliminates a lot of blowback as well as being very easily turned out even after many shots with powders known to stick plugs.

Neither stuck plugs nor the use of a tool has caused me any issues in using the current Accura plug - and it does a great job of reducing blowback once you find the right primer to use.

My concern is simple - the cost of replacement plugs will be much higher with the tool-free plugs as it has with the TC plugs for the Triumph and Endeavor. The prospect of using vent liners might become quite attractive economically.

I don't think I would hesitate to buy the current version of the Accura at Cabela's prices due to this bit of news. Nor would I consider buying this "V2" as an upgrade to my current Accura.

The recoil-reducing stock is also a nice but not needed "improvement". Both features will sell rifles though their real benefit is questionable at best. I would rather they had simply redesigned the butt stock to be more aesthetically pleasing.

They don't really have a choice.... if they wanna sell guns! LOL!

Of course, if CVA copied more of the features like the stainless receiver on the Encore, then they would have to raise the price considerably and then they would sink for sure. Honestly, they are decent guns but the only folks here in my region that buy them are the guys that can't pony up the funds to buy the Encore they realy wanted. :confused0024:

All kidding aside, if I couldn't afford an Encore then the Accura would be the one to look at. :happy0001:

Apex is MUCH nicer than the regular encore. That comparison is no contest. The Apex and the pro hunter would be a fair fight, but the apex has a better trigger, better barrel and is $300 cheaper. Read Mike Bellm's review. He is THE t/c authority. If you don't believe it you're a fool
