New beast from CVA!!

Just got off the phone with the CEO of CVA.

Accura V2 coming out soon!! Quick release Breech plug and some recoil burners in the stock. The QR BP will be really cool to see, Its going to be like the Apex.

It will be something to check out but a quick release BP in my opinion is nothing to get all excited over, so what if it comes out quicker, it's not like you have to remove the BP for every shot. And recoil burners another so what, the recoil from My ACCURA is'nt even noticeable. It's just some extra add on's to up the price another $200.
If CVA wanted to improve the ACCURA a Stainless Steel Receiver insted of the Aluminum one would be a improvement, or say a Laminated Wood Stock would even be nice. But it's gonna take more than a quick release BP and some Rubber to get me to buy one, Im happy with the 3 I have now.

lol only 3?

the BP has another great future - It will control blowback

O.K. you got me on the blowback issue.....mabey the new BP will fit my old ACCURA's??? that would be nice! Im thinking CVA will probably use the same reciver for the new ACCURA and a quick change to a new BP would be good if it will work.
I did get a Triumph cheap a few weeks ago and Sabotloader ask me to let him know about the blowback with it. Well I guess he wanted my opinion as he knew it was minimal and it was. Not that the ACCURA's blowback is all that bad but yes a better style BP would certanily be a Improvement, still not convinced on the new recoil design yet....I'll have to see it.

If the bp is the same as the apex you will get absolutely NO blow back. NONE. The only place that will get dirty is the barrel and the face of the bp. I don't care how many times you shoot it the bp will come out with your fingers as easy as pie

fusion 01-04-2010 09:56 AM

I guess we now know why places like Cabella's have been selling their current inventory so cheap on the Accura, make room for the revised version. Still have not shot mine yet, current weather in western NY not so good.

Our Weather is fine.....the temps have been in the single didgets to low teens during the day and single didgets at night with wind chills in the minus, with plenty of Snow! Go shoot your ACCURA! And yes now is a good time for any of you thinking of buying a ACCURA to get one.
With Cabela's discounts and other offers you can get a SS/BK for around $269

BP - i'll forward your "Wants" To Dudley. SS frame though would really drive up the price on the Accura.

What happened to Mark and Tom?? what is Dudley in charge of. While your at is see if the new BP will fit the ACCURA, will the BP from the APEX fit the ACCURA??

MountainDevil54 01-04-2010 10:22 AM

Dudley is CEO of CVA. Mark is VP of CVA and does Quality control. Whos tom? LOL

The BP from the Apex most likely will not fit the current Accura

lemoyne 01-04-2010 11:54 AM

I wish they would quit copying TC and come out with some unique guns.

MountainDevil54 01-04-2010 12:01 PM

tc copied knight ;)

Where is Knight?

MountainDevil54 01-04-2010 12:28 PM

where would tc be if S&W hadnt bought them out? Same place knight is more than likely. S&W is whats keeping them alive.

Breechplug 01-04-2010 01:11 PM

Boy there sure is a-lot of Hostility going on, on here in 2010. Between Powerbelts, ACCURA's and Bad Barrels....LOL.........

MountainDevil54 01-04-2010 01:14 PM

Exactly. I've dealt with this for years now. I wont ever change what i shoot just because some bad eggs dont like it. You just have to feed off this sort and continue doing what you enjoy most.

Semisane 01-04-2010 01:17 PM

Who you calling a bad egg, you Devil you!!! :s10: :s2::s2::s2:

That's why we live in a free country (so far anyway) where we can use what we like no matter what anyone says, and if they dont like it they dont have to use it. But if you dont like something it's great to explain why, but we should'nt trash others for using something we dont or dont like.
Let's all just be HAPPY!

either way, i look forward to see this new accura

Breechplug 01-04-2010 01:36 PM

Even this Die Hard CVA shooter bought a Triumph, (got a great deal) it's a nice MLer, a little too high priced for what ya get but Im not gonna bash TC or there shooters. A SS Barrel on the Triumph would be a great addition insted of the Weathershield.
I only have one thing left in my arsenol that nobodys put down yet...My XTP Mags...any takers??? LOL!

your xtp mags leave a funny smell on my hands from the copper, and it gives me a headache. Plus they dont fit in my barrel without a sabot :D

Great advice - however one of the biggest CVA advocates sees fit to take take shots at about anything not CVA with the attitude that anything else is not worthy. Same with his bullet, powder and primer selections. And when called on it, will generally just ignore it and go on business as usual.

Its on thing to have preferences - quite another to act as if thoses preferences are the only choice that should be considered.

I tried those XTP Mags once Breechplug. They were terrible! I slow cooked them at least three hours and used plenty of seasoning and they didn't taste good at all.

Right On!!!

MountainDevil54 01-04-2010 02:45 PM

you're forgetting, ive owned tc. i believe my 'bashing' of tc has dropped a lot over the years. I just give my honest opinion on their certain rifles, and most times its not the rifle itself, just the hardware they mounted on it. My biggest beef with them, their stocks dont fit for open sights and on the triump i dont like that you have to operate the lever like an omega. CVA's version is a big improvement over theirs. Plus its a lot quieter to operate in the field. Plus the BIGGEST factor, will that tc i bought, shoot conicals?

We all have our likes and dislikes. Right now i like American Pioneer, who ever wants to say its crap, feel free to do so but dont whine over it and try telling me its crap when im posting the target pictures.

Get a room with Breechplug? Eh....hes really not my type. To hairy for my liking

Is Dud short for Dudley? It would be befitting for CVA, There guns sure are!

MountainDevil54 01-04-2010 03:31 PM

bring what you have and let it do the talking, thats the way i look at it muzzy

Chasam60 01-04-2010 05:31 PM

MD It wasn't Knights guns that did them in. They are some of the best. TC and SW also make good guns lets hope they do not make the same foolish errors that Knight did.

Charlie

MountainDevil54 01-04-2010 06:40 PM

true, poor management and no designers did knight in.

Underclocked 01-04-2010 08:24 PM

I'll repeat my thoughts on these marvelous innovations here for those of you that don't visit MM. ;)

If it is patterned after the Apex breech plug, it won't be a speed breech plug (nor will it be a quick release plug)... it will be a hand-removable breech plug. Meaning only that it takes no tools to remove it. I honestly don't see it as a big plus in that regard, but the plug design also eliminates a lot of blowback as well as being very easily turned out even after many shots with powders known to stick plugs.

Neither stuck plugs nor the use of a tool has caused me any issues in using the current Accura plug - and it does a great job of reducing blowback once you find the right primer to use.

My concern is simple - the cost of replacement plugs will be much higher with the tool-free plugs as it has with the TC plugs for the Triumph and Endeavor. The prospect of using vent liners might become quite attractive economically.

I don't think I would hesitate to buy the current version of the Accura at Cabela's prices due to this bit of news. Nor would I consider buying this "V2" as an upgrade to my current Accura.

The recoil-reducing stock is also a nice but not needed "improvement". Both features will sell rifles though their real benefit is questionable at best. I would rather they had simply redesigned the butt stock to be more aesthetically pleasing.

They don't really have a choice.... if they wanna sell guns! LOL!

Of course, if CVA copied more of the features like the stainless receiver on the Encore, then they would have to raise the price considerably and then they would sink for sure. Honestly, they are decent guns but the only folks here in my region that buy them are the guys that can't pony up the funds to buy the Encore they realy wanted. :confused0024:

All kidding aside, if I couldn't afford an Encore then the Accura would be the one to look at. :happy0001:

Apex is MUCH nicer than the regular encore. That comparison is no contest. The Apex and the pro hunter would be a fair fight, but the apex has a better trigger, better barrel and is $300 cheaper. Read Mike Bellm's review. He is THE t/c authority. If you don't believe it you're a fool
