Default You wanna hear some good one's.....

First off let me say the guy's Im gonna talk about are my good friends and have been great Deer Hunters for years. I got them into ML Hunting and (thought) I tought them well, so I thought...
First good one...I was helping my buddy sight in his new Triumph with my other buddy, no names mentioned to protect me. As I watched him load his Triumph he put the pellets in, then sabot, then proceded to throw the ram rod down hard onto the sabot, he was really smashing it down on it. I said what the heck you doing? He said I have'nt got to my mark on the ram rod yet. I looked at my other buddy that thinks he knows everything about MLing and he said he's seating the sabot and has to get to his mark on the ramrod where I showed him.
Of course I said that it's not how you do it and that he's crushing the pellets, they both looked at me like Im nuts. They said you have to make sure there's no air space inbetween the pellets and the sabot, and that I showed them how to do it years ago. I said yea I did and that was with loose powder and a ball, not pellets and a sabot. I said your gonna crush the pellets and ruin the nose of the sabot, he did'nt even have the right tip for the TC Shockwaves he was using, he was using a cleaning jag to load.
Anyway after a brief fight and that I did'nt know what I was talking about and he was'nt gonna shoot the gun untill it was well seated on the pellets I said shoot it and give it to me.
After the shot and it did go off, I showed him how to load and just pushed the sabot firmly onto the pellets. He said it's not on my mark on the ramrod, I said yea because you crushed the pellets befor and that's why it's above your mark on the ram rod.
They both backed up far far away from me as I was gonna shoot it as they said they wer'nt gonna be near me when it blew up in my face, I said do you think I'd shoot it if I thought it was gonna blow up. I shot and they were expecting me to be dead, I was'nt. It took me another 5 shots befor they would come close enough. I still think he loaded his MLer the same way after I gone!
Next one....while we were still at the same place same time my buddy ran out of primers, I told him to wait and I'd get him some of mine out of my truck, my other buddy that knows all pulled a handfull of (different 209's) out of his pocket and said use these. I looked at them and said there all different, he said so what all 209's are the same. I said no they ar'nt he's sighted in with the one's I gave him. Another fight started.....he said I have been loading shotgun shells for 30 years and all 209 primers are the same.......I had enough, left and went hunting and said you show him how to do it. He used the all different primers.
Last one, today I went to my buddies house that know's everything to bring him a big container of venesion Soup that I just made and he was in the cellar cleaning his TC Encor, he had it all apart. I inspected the barrel first as I thought with him it would be ruined, it was'nt. But what surprised me was next. he said I just finished cleaning the barrel, I said it looks good what kind of oil do you use inside the barrel? He said nothing it's a Stainless Steel Barrel and it does'nt need oil, it does'nt rust. The fight began again, I told him it needed oil and would rust without it, he laughed and I left.
Im still not sure how it never rusted after all these years. Anyway that's it I thought you'd enjoy this, I sure did'nt! I also told them I talk to a-lot of yous on the Forum and they both said do you really think you can believe them guys and what they say, you dont even know them. I never said another word.....and like I said they are Great Shot Gun Hunters and Friends, but will never learn about MLing as they just wont listen and think they know it all. Needless to say I now own a New Triumph,,,,,the one buddy gave up MLing because he did'nt know who to believe, me or my other buddy. What a shame.................

I have went through some of that with my friends who I introduced into the sport. I came to the conclusion that as long as they were not doing anything dangerous, if they did not listen to my advise... so be it.

Your buddy is right Breechplug! I've been lying my ass off for years. The only person I trust on this forum is the BoreCleaningWeasel.

(Great stories.)

After a bunch of misfires that Im not sure of the cause, could have been from him smashing the pellets with his ram rod or who knows why. And after he missed 4 deer during out Late ML Season, YES I did get it, well I paid $200 for it. It's the Camo/Weather Shield with a Pine Ridge Scope and Butler Creek Scope Rings, Not Bad Huh!
He has no Patience, I promised him I'd let him use My Hunterbolt Mag or Kodiak next Season like I have done for the past 4 years.
I load it, clean it, everything it, he just shoots it. If he's Happy Im Happy!!!!!!!!!
(BP) p.s. I guess when your used to shooting a CVA ya just cant go to a TC...LOL.........Yea I know me the Big CVA shooter now has a TC Triumph.......DONT TELL ANYONE!
