Range rod. I made my own cheap range rod by buying a $10 ML cleaning kit from Wal-mart, putting the rod together with a super jag and making a wood T-handle for it. I put the super-jag on my range rod, and just a short loading jag on my ML ramrod.

Lots of patches, a patch worm. Also, get a container to make pre-saturated cleaning patches. I bought a couple containers of pre-sat patches, and saved the containers. I don't buy the "Muzzleloader cleaning patches" I get "regular" cleaning patches.. about 2" square. This way I can get 500 for the price of 200 "muzzleloader" patches. They aren't quite as thick (it seems), but a cleaning jag (instead of a loading jag) will give you a tight fit for a good clean.

Muzzleloading is only as complicated as you want to make it.
