Hello to all, new here.
Have a new CVA Kodiak .50 caliber have tried Hornady sst.250gr sabots with 3 different powders, 777magnum 2 pellets, 777regular 2 pellets, with 777primers, 100 & 110 gr. of Blackhorn209 and Federal 209A primers, and cannot get under an 8" or 10" 3 shot group @ 100yrds.
Scope mounts have been checked, seat the charge the same each time, barrel not hot, swabbed between shots with the 777. Going to try .300gr sabots next. Any other suggestions? My old TC Firehawk took 3 shots to work up a load that punches the bullseye@ 100yrds everytime. This CVA has me thinking I wasted my money.

Actually what i might suggest first, is to quit shooting those expensive bullet, get a box of XTP's or Speer Gold Dot .452/250 grain and shoot those a 25 yards until you find a powder load that will work for you. Do not waste your time @ 100 until you can shoot a real tight 5 shot group @ 25.

I would suggest using loose T7-2f - start at 80 grains and work up to 110 max for now. If you can not get the XTP'/Gold Dots to group for you at 25 - then you may have a problem with something wrong with/on the rifle.

The other thing that makes a difference is your sabots how do they fit your bore? If they are to loose you will loose accuracy especially @ 100 yards. It should take consisten and steady pressure to get the sabot down the barrel.... no need to push or pound it down in stages.

Another thing that can work against you @ 100 is your barrel bore and or the crown on the muzzle. Make sure that the bore is clean - shiny bright - and free of plastic fouling (if you have any).

I have a CVA Kodiak and it is still sighted in for 3 50gr Pellets of Pyrodox and a 240gr XTP Mag and a T7 Primer. Even with this MAGNUM CHARGE I still got it to shoot 2-3" groups at 100yds. Since then I have switched to Loose Powder and have not shot My Kodiak since I bought My ACCURA's. The Kodiak is a good shooting ML, it handled the magnum charge well and Im sure it would do a-lot better with a lesser charge of loose powder and I could get the groups down to 1 1/2" at 100yds. You did'nt waste your money on the ML, Im not sure why you cant get it to shoot well with what your using at it seems to be a acceptable load.
300gr Sabots are not gonna help you get it to shoot better, it must be you. Have you tried sighting the ML in at say 40yds first? Trying to go right to 100yds could be the problem. You have to get in sighted in at a close distance befor you go for a further one because if your not getting good groups at 40 you'll never get them at 100. Start off close then go from there.

Well it is a CVA, I would start by checking the button on the end of the barrel if itys not exact center it will shoot all over. Check the mounting screws to stok make sure they are not loose or over tightened should be about 28 inch pounds. Look for any thing loose in the part of the action that holds things inline. If you have clamped your rings down right next to the turret that can cause problems; if you have a different scope try it.
CVA has brought the top of there line a long way especally the ones with the Bergara barrels.
I still buy TC, and the local Walmart has some Omega for sale for close to half price.

Yea it's a CVA and I have taken more Whitetails with My CVA's than any of my Hunting Partners combined, I also outshoot them at the range save money and eat better! My Kodiak may be a cheap CVA and retired now but it shot great and loaded my freezer with Venesion. Let's look at what's really the cause here. Also My $89 CVA Stag Horn (not Stag Horn magnum) put over 1000lbs of Venesion in the Freezer in 3 years not bad for a $89 Mler.

What kind of sabots are you using with those sst's.

I'd second trying to shoot at 25 or 50 yards until you get a tight group at that range before you back it off to 100.

The other thing I would do it lose the pellets and get some loose T7. Or you can use your BH209, but you need to try more than just 2 weights of powder. I'd start out at 80 grains, then work your way up in 5 grain increments. This takes a long time, but is worth it in the end.

Another thing would be to get say, 3 different types of bullets- maybe some XTP's, Gold Dots, Barnes, etc. Some guns just don't like certain bullets.

Your other option is to send the gun back to CVA and see if they can figure out what's going on.

It took me a long time to find what my CVA likes. I used pellets at first, and was shooting 8" groups at 100 yards. Switching to 80 grains of loose T7 shrunk my groups to 3.5". By playing around with different types of powder & bullets I got that down to 1.5".
