Default One Happy kid

Guys - Remember the "So close today" post I had a couple days ago? I was out in the same general area this afternoon. Just before dark I heard a shot maybe 100 yds of so to my left. I waited a bit to be sure nothing was coming my way and went to investigate.
There was a young lad I later found out to be 13 and his dad. He was all smiles and for good reason. He shot what I think is the same 8 pt I saw a couple days ago. Great shot too. Said the deer went right down. He was using a 270 (my facorite centerfire too). I congratulated him, waited for him and his dad to dress it out and help drag it out to their vehicle. I'll tell you that kid was so pumped up I think he could have carried it on his back and ran to the vehicle.

Ahh, the sweet rush of a kill. Glad somebody was able to put him down and be grateful for it.

Nothing like shooting a nice buck when your young. I can remember hunts like that. Nice to see a young man had a wonderful hunting season.
