Question How to make solvent aka "Griz"

I recently renewed a friendship with my black powder guns, I forgot a lot of info. (Just about ready to hide my own Easter eggs). One of my shooting buddies always recommended swabbing barrel between shots with something he called "Griz". What is the formula for this stuff? Thanks

I'm not familiar with Griz Robertheckmo, but I've tried a lot of commercial and home made mixes and recommend you try either straight 91% isopropyl alcohol (my favorite) or Windex with vinegar.

Have not heard of that. If you tell us what powder you use we can tell you what solvents will work.

Question aka Griz

I'm using this for pyrodex. If I remember correctly, it was a mixture of several things. I just have about one half ounce left. It is very faintly tinted blue and really has no discernable smell. However, my bride, has a better sniffer than mine, says is has a petroleum disstillate in it. She thinks naptha, which most people cannot obtain. I know my friend made it from household items.

Might have been rubbing alcohol, hydrogen peroxide and Murphy's Oil Soap...Equal portions of each...

This was a popular solvent in the 70s and 80s...I usually use water or rubbing alcohol...

A 50/50 mixture of windshield washer fluid and alcohol or Windex with vinegar will do the job quite well.

All of the recommendation in this thread so far seem safe but I wouldn't go around mixing chemicals unless you know what you're doing.
