Are there any choices better than a Gensis for $200-250?

So right now I have a Remington Genesis I got at the end of last year on clearance at Cabela's for $100 after sales and rebates. At first I wasn't thrilled with it as it's had very light use and the bluing on the barrel seemed to scratch through very easy. The camo also had a few very small chips on it. I also slightly messed up the rubber piece on the butt pad but that was my fault. Still works fine you can just tell it doesn't look perfect. Overall I'd rate it probably 95% condition. However, after shooting it then hunting with it I realized I love this thing. It shoots great, has a awesome feel to it and just fits me like a glove. I had issues keeping guns still usually however with this I can hold it fairly still. Just feels great to me. I figured a hunting rifle of any kind will get scratched up so I shouldn't worry about the bluing scratching. I've only been hunting with it 2 days and already gotten 2 deer with it. Just a awesome shooting gun to me. My only real complaint is you have to unscrew the ram rod to load it but it seems like you do with a lot now.
Anyway, I had a buddy with a Knight whose scope went bad this morning. I told him he could borrow the Genesis to use this afternoon. When I talked to him tonight he says he loves this gun and wants to know if I want to sell it to him for $200. He knows I only paid $100. I think this is more than generous however, I'm not sure that even at double what I paid I really want to get rid of it being as I like it a lot and want to use it to hunt with for hopefully years to come.
Basically what I'm asking is should I take the $200? Is there anything in that price range or $250 or so that's better than the Genesis or should I just stick with the Genesis? If there is something better than this gun I will sell it to him and upgrade. However, if there is nothing better in that price range I will just keep the Genesis. I really wish I'd gotten two Genesis's.

Well it sounds like you have the new gun flu. And there is no vaccine for that. Why people who have a perfectly good gun decide they need a new one.. well I have had that bug for years.
The Genesis is a good rifle, no doubt. For $200-250 I am sure you could find a good used rifle on one of the Auction sites. But If you were happy with the Genesis, and your friend seems to have fallen in love with it... what's that tell you? It is a personal decision on your part. Glad I am not you.

Yeah I'm 90% sure I will keep the Genesis. I just wish the finish was better on it but I really don't care if it gets scratched up as I got it to hunt with and any gun that gets used like that wont be in perfect shape.
I bought it as a spare gun but like I said I fell in love with it after shooting it. I can't really think of any I'd rather have so I think I will just keep this. I think the offer of double what I paid was just nice enough looking that it made me start doubting if I really wanted it.
I asked on here just in case there is something a lot better out that that I should consider.

Well I have a stainless steel barrel Genesis with the black composite stock and like yours, it is a real shooter. I mounted a 3-9x40 Nikon Omega and intend to use the rifle in the modern deer season.

Since you really like the rifle (and so does your buddy), tell him he can buy you this one http://www.natchezss.com/product.cfm...STS%20FLT%20RT and you'll be happy.

I've owned a few (economicaly priced) CVA's, StagHorn, StagHorn Magnum, HunterBolt Mag. And for the money they were some good shooter's. The bluing on these also was'nt top notch. But they put some Deer in the Freezer and that's what counted. I actually got attached to them like you. But each year I had to buy a new and better model as to keep up with the Jone's.
Like Cayugad said (you got the new Gun Flu) and there is no Vaccine for this and it never goes away it just get's worse and worse. If you really like the ML than keep it, but for about what your Friend want's to give you for your's, and like MountainDevil54 said you can get a ACCURA for around 250, and that's 3 times the ML for the money and it is a good shooter.
I guess if it was up to me, I'd upgrade to a ACCURA or something else to your likeing, then when the Flu hit's you next time you have a better ML to bargain with.
Best of Luck to you.

Can anyone check on Natchezss and seewhat the final price for both the above gun and one in the blued with camo stock would be after shipping and everything? I'd check myself but am on my phone and don't have access to a computer and when I do later today it will be on dial up. My phone doesn't seem to like the Natchezss site all that much. Thanks.
