Default Opening day question

When I go to the range, I always pop off a primer or 2 to make sure everything is all dry, and ready to load. What about opening day? I was thinking about poping a couple of tonight at home, so it is done before I get to my hunting spot. When do you all do this?

I live alone, so if I want to pop off caps in the morning or at night it makes no difference. I normally do it just before I load up for my morning walk about. But in your case, doing it at night would be fine. Just push a clean patch to the bottom of the breech on a jag and pop a cap or two into that. Then load in the morning.

That is exactly what I do... dry patch the bore to get the worst of the primer fouling out and load up for the morning hunt. Actually my current load was loaded on October 9.. and since i have not used it - it is still in there, but I have been doing this for years now so I have that confidence that everything is Jim Dandy...
