New to ML hunting, are the speed loaders necessary and who's using what and what do you think for set-up. I have a Traditions Pursuit 50 Cal

I am new to are you talking pellets or powder. I would say with pellets maybe. Whati found and i think it would work either way is some 10ml test tubes they sale them on ebay fo 10 bucks for 25 tubes. I would think they would hold three pellets and a sabot. It says they hold 150 grains of loose powder. As to weather pellets or powder are better depends on if speed is worth 2.3 times as much. I am going to pre load loose in those tubes. Lets face it. You ant getting another shot on a running wounded deer with either.

Are the loading tubes necessary??? Of course not. I hunted 20 years without them. Are they handy for hunting... absolutely. Carry five pre measured loads and a loaded rifle and your good for all day.

In your .50 caliber I would get some Pyrodex RS in loose form. I would load 90 grains of that and a 250 grain Shockwave and see how that shoots. Another good bullet would be some of the XTP's out there in packs. Be sure to swab between shots and you should be doing real well.

Loading Tubes are great to save weight. I use old plastic medicine containers. Measure out powder in 2 or 3. Caps in another. If you use
lubed patches in another. Bullets/Balls in another. I use to carry around a Possibles Bag and all the neat stuff. I hunt Big Cypress and (to use my favorite double negative) I ain't
got no swampbuggy or atv. In Muzzleloader season its usually ankle to knee deep average 95 degrees and humid (rain) most days. I have had no problem with moisture.

One reason i bought the tubes.Sure there are alot of things you could use. But if you load from a flask into a measure thenin the gun that much more time rain or snow could get in. I can see it now go to shoot that 12 point and nothing happens all bacause i would not spend 40 cents a tube.
